Although the Kangaroos went down in a crushing defeat to Sydney today (which pisses me off as in my year, %50 are Sydney fans, %35 Kangaroos fans and the rest are misc and now I'm gonna cop a lot of shit). BUT the Sharks are most certainly back, smashing Manly 68-6. I was hoping for 80-0, but it didn't quite get to that. I know Manly had injuries coming in, but the thing is that Manly with injuries is still better than teams like the Roosters and Bulldogs, but they didn't register wins that big against either of those two teams this year (they actually lost to the Roosters last week). Before the finals they have South Sydney and Newcastle, which about 10 weeks ago seemed like easy wins, but neven though they are last and second last on the ladder, they are now harder games. I expect teh Sharks to pull out the wins though and go into the finals looking strong. The Kangaroos have Cartlon this week and should post a big win and will most probably play St Kilda in the first round of the finals. Although they played shit against St Kilda a couple weeks ago, they can win the game IMO. They just need to play steady all game and don't let the lead extend past 3 goals. Colbert needs to come back from injury as well, since Brown has had no idea how to play on Gherig and Hall the past couple of weeks (two of the top Full Forwards in the game).
On top of my TNA order, I'm going to order some tapes as well. I'm going with NOAH's Differ Cup (Hidaka and Fujita vs. KENTA and Marufuji bitchez) and an ROH show. I'm torn between Final Showdown, Nowhere to Run and New Frontiers (good things I have not heard about TFIN. After teh ROH (not teh company but a guy I talk to on AIM every now and then) and Tim Cooke pimp Punk/Rave as a MOTYC, I might go with NTR (plus Homicide/Williams, Shelley and Delirious/Strong and Evans and a rematch of my 2004 MOTY runner-up in Danielson/Aries).
On the topic of ROH, the show tonight looked mega weak. I make no secrets that my two favourites in ROH are Homicide and Shelley, but the way they were used this show was fucking stupid. This was the perfect oppertunity to give 'Cide the belt and it's fucked up. I think the problem was that Gabe had decided to give Gibson the strap before he signed back on with WWE and he had to switch things up. But why not give him the strap then? Gabe's done well enough when things have been shaken up in the past. So what do we get? We get 'Cide being DQed from a 3-Way (which is fucking ridiculous to start with as 3-Ways should never have a DQ rule) and things get screwed up. I was looking forward to the match majorly, but what transpired completely turned me off it. It's just not the title picture though, as Shelley is pulled from the tag match in place of Puma. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Puma, but ALEX FUCKING SHELLEY got pulled from the match. I usually don't make complaints about ROH and its booking, but I'm not going to sound like one of those ROH fanboys who bashes WWE and TNA for ridiculous booking, but turns a blind eye when ROH does it.
When my DVD's arrive, I'm going to review the Zero-One (more people need to know about teh Murahama) and NJPW stuff first, since there aren't many reviews about from the show. The reason why the reviews haven't come much lately are due to a few reasons. School work has gotten in the way, as has the PS2 and I just haven't felt the urge to sit down and review something.
Anyway, if you have got any suggestions on which ROH show I should pick up, drop a suggestion here.

My suggestions for ROH DVDs
Even though I don't have New Frontiers, and even though I do have both the Final Showdown and Nowhere to Run, I think it's fair to recommend the May 2005 shows over New Frontiers. If you're interested, here are my star ratings of the matches from the Final Showdown and Nowhere to Run. Some may be a bit overrated, but star ratings are obviously based on one's own opinion.
The Final Showdown
- Alex Shelley v. Roderick Strong (***1/2)
- Matt Stryker v. Masked Chicago "Superstar" (NR; I don't bother watching that squash)
- Samoa Joe v. Jack Evans v. Ebetaroh v. Delirious (**; ***** in terms of entertainment)
- BJ Whitmer & Jimmy Jacobs v. CM Punk & Ace Steel (***)
- Jimmy Rave v. Matt Sydal (****)
- Colt Cabana & Doug Williams v. Nigel McGuinness & Chad Collyer (***1/2)
- Austin Aries v. James Gibson (****1/2)
- Homicide v. Bryan Danielson (****1/2)
Nowhere to Run
- James Gibson v. BJ Whitmer (***1/2)
- Jimmy Jacobs v. Chad Collyer (***1/4)
- Homicide v. Doug Williams (****1/4)
- Alex Shelley & Delirious v. Jack Evans & Roderick Strong (***1/2)
- Colt Cabana v. Nigel McGuinness (***1/2)
- Austin Aries v. Bryan Danielson (****1/2)
- CM Punk v. Jimmy Rave (****)
Oh, and if you haven't done so already, I suggest picking up Death Before Dishonor III, as it has (IMO) the 2005 Match of the Year thus far. Also, like the May 2005 shows, it is excellent from top to bottom.
